Overview

PostSmooth helps users plan, schedule, analyze, and manage social media content. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using PostSmooth, including features that connect to the YouTube API Services.

Information We Collect

We collect account information you provide, such as your name, email address, authentication credentials, workspace settings, uploaded media, scheduled posts, and content you create in the app.

When you connect a YouTube account, PostSmooth may receive and store your YouTube channel ID, channel name, channel avatar, OAuth access tokens, OAuth refresh tokens, granted scopes, token expiration details, video metadata, video status information, video statistics, comment threads, and replies needed to provide YouTube features.

How We Use Information

We use your information to provide and secure PostSmooth, authenticate your account, connect social profiles, display YouTube videos and comments, update YouTube video metadata or scheduling settings at your request, reply to YouTube comments at your request, troubleshoot the service, and improve product reliability.

Facebook and Threads APIs

When you connect Facebook, PostSmooth receives the app-scoped identity of the person authorizing access, selected Page IDs, Page names, profile details, access tokens, granted permissions, token expiry information, posts, comments and engagement data needed for the features you use. We use these to identify the selected Page, publish your content, display posts and respond to comments at your request.

When you connect Threads, we receive your account ID, username, profile details, access tokens, requested permissions and available posts, replies and insights. We use them to publish content, display conversations, moderate replies you select and present performance metrics.

App-scoped identities are stored to associate a Meta deletion request with the connected accounts it concerns. Temporary connection and account-selection attempts expire after ten minutes; pending account-selection tokens are encrypted and cleared after selection or cancellation. Expired attempts are cleaned up when you start another connection.

Disconnecting stops platform access and clears stored access credentials while retaining your authored content and account history. You can separately delete stored platform connections, related analytics and platform publishing history through Meta data controls, or follow our deletion instructions. Your authored posts and uploaded media remain unless you request their deletion. These controls do not delete posts already published on Meta.

Instagram API

When you connect Instagram, PostSmooth receives and stores the connected Professional account ID, username, profile details, media metadata, access tokens, granted scopes, and comments needed to publish content and manage comments at your request.

You can disconnect Instagram from PostSmooth settings. For steps to delete stored platform data, see our data deletion page.

YouTube API Services

PostSmooth uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account or using YouTube features in PostSmooth, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

You can revoke PostSmooth's access to your Google account at any time from the Google security settings page. PostSmooth's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Optional AI Writing

When you choose Generate in the AI writing assistant, we send the caption you are editing and your selected editing action to OpenAI to produce a suggestion. We do not attach your connected-account credentials, media, or inbox history. You can review, edit, accept, or discard the suggestion. We retain request counts and timestamps to enforce usage limits; this feature does not log caption text. Accepted suggestions become part of your draft when you choose to use and save them.

Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate PostSmooth, comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, or complete actions you request through connected services such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Threads.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide PostSmooth, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may disconnect your YouTube account by revoking access in Google security settings. To request account or data deletion, contact us using the contact details below.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
